Oxford Electronics was founded in 1992 in the UK. Our aim is to provide the widest range of specialized optical fibers available. We are market driven and our fibers have been designed and developed to fulfill the needs of industry and medicine.We manufacture multimode optical fibers with acrylate, polyimide, and a range of metal coatings for spectroscopy and laser delivery. We make single mode optical fibers for wavelengths 300 nm to 2.2 µm in different diameters and with different coatings. Radiation resistant single mode optical fiber complements our radiation resistant multimode fiber. Our polarization preserving optical fiber (high birefringence) and low birefringence optical fibers are made for wavelengths from 300 nm to 2.2 µm. For longer wavelengths we offer chalcogenide optical fibers for 1-6 µm.
For high-powered lasers we make tapered optical fibers and for flexible light delivery we offer optical fiber bundles fabricated from silica/silica, glass and polymer fibers.
Please take some time to look through our range of standard products that we hope will contain optical fibers for most requirements but note that our ability to design and develop custom fibers across the range of fiber types at an affordable price is unique. We have an active R&D program and we are developing new types of optical fiber continuously.
The new CuBALL coated fibers allow use of optical fibers in high temperatures and harsh environments. Fibers with the CuBALL coating are available in singlemode, graded index and step index types.
