Doped fibers
Singlemode fibers doped with rare earth compounds have enabled optical fibers with amplifying capabilities to be made.Another use is in the construction of fiber lasers that can be produced with high powers and good beam quality.
Oxford Electronics has made a variety of custom doped fibers for customers for a number of novel applications. We are currently developing doped tapered fibers specifically for the manufacture of high performance fiber lasers.
