CuBALL singlemode optical fiber
Singlemode optical fibers are available with the CuBALL coating. This gives the advantages of high temperature operation and high strength. It also makes the fiber very hermetic and suitable for use in hostile environments. Fibers are available for 800 nm and 1300-1550 nm use.Other operating wavelengths are available to order.

Singlemode CuBALL fibers will be particularly useful for high performance sensors. Since all metal coatings increase fiber attenuation compared to polymer coatings there may be some applications using very long lengths of fiber where attenuation must be minimized. For these applications we can offer a larger cladding diameter (200 µm) giving attenuation benefits similar to the CuBALL GI 50-200.
Radiation resistant fiber with a pure silica core is also available.
