For coupling lasers to singlemode and graded index fibers

Tapered singlemode fibers and tapered graded index fibers are an efficient method of coupling lasers to single mode or tapered index fibers. These tapered fibers are normally supplied with a 125 µm output cladding diameter to match standard fibers but other diameters are available to order. Input core diameters up to five times the output core diameter are possible. This can help ease the lateral alignment of the laser (x-y) but angular alignment is made more critical.
